President
Kal is a founding partner of the firm. It was established to pursue a vision that brings quality of design and the craft of construction together working hand in hand. The idea is to approach all projects by starting from the basic principal, addressing each design problem objectively. He brings an international exposure working in different countries, cities and culture over his career. He provides direction and vision for the firm and keeps an eye on the overarching framework and compass of the collective effort.
Kal has worked in a wide range of varied types and scales of projects over the years. Prior to forming Noman Architects Inc., Kal has spent an intense period working on tall buildings at Adrian Smith & Gordon Gill Architecture in Chicago.
Kal studied at the Architectural Association, School of Architecture, London (1990) as well as at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (1983).
He has served as juror for the Inter Professional Projects Program at Illinois Institute of Technology.

IVY NOMAN, Assoc. AIA
Vice-President
Ivy is a founding partner of the firm. Ivy provides design directions on all the projects of the firm at various stages of their development. She provides project management and programming of the projects. She sets an uncompromising standard in pursuit of a solution, be it technical or aesthetic. She encourages an open and informal atmosphere which enables extensive inputs from all including clients and consultants. She firmly believes in design as a collaborative approach, the results of which none can predict yet is unexpectedly rich and unique.
Having lived in different parts of the world from an early age, Ivy brings to bear her intuitive approach and aesthetic vision. She has worked a good part of her career working in different firms in Chicago working on varied types of projects from affordable housing to healthcare sector to institutional projects and lately focusing on high-end residential designs. Ivy has recently been involved in primarily residential projects with Ver Bryck Architects, Ltd. in the suburb of the North Shores of Chicago.
Ivy studied at the School of Architecture and Planning, New Delhi (1998). She has briefly taught at Harrington College of Design, Chicago.
